Do your home decorating and interior design features make you want to scream? Well I can testify to that, because for many years I have lived in a rented home and on walking through the door that is exactly what I wanted to do.

In fact during one period of time after coming back from a trip and on entering the apartment that is just what I would do, screammmm. My husband was beginning to think I was loosing my mind.

Many times when you rent a home you have many restrictions, such as you can’t change the paint color, you can’t put holes in the wall to hang pictures, or you can’t change the curtain rods. They tend to have the ugliest carpet and the same boring dull color all the way through the place.

I got around the paint color issue by choosing a neutral color with a very light tint. Most were not observant enough to know that it was a different color unless they saw it against the old color. While an ugly carpet can be covered with a beautiful rug.

Home is the place to meet fellowship and relax with family and friends. So its interior decorating and design features should make us feel comfortable, relaxed and even happy. Isn’t that how you feel when you stay in a nice hotel? Well why not your home?
