Floor Lamps

Floor fixtures, of course, rest on the floor and are usually movable. They are normally used for task lighting next to a chair, a desk or table, and to flank a sofa.

There is also the "torchiere" floor lamp, which shines light upward. It would be used for indirect lighting for a room.

There are various shapes and styles of floor lamps to choose from. There are traditional, modern and whimsical styles. Some lamps have trays, which can function as a table and light all in one. A floor lamp with a swing arm allows light to be directed were needed.
