Types of Floor Fixtures or Lamps
Floor fixtures, of course, rest on the floor and are usually movable. They are normally used for task lighting next to a chair, a desk or table, and to flank a sofa. There is also the "torchiere" floor lamp, which shines light upward. It would be used for indirect lighting for a room.
