Types of Indirect Lighting
Indirect lighting is used to provide subtle, dramatic and ambient lighting around a room. The lamps are sometimes hidden, and give a soft shadowless illumination. It is used to highlight specific objects, for example-
Indoor plant lights -
Used in the planter to illuminate the plants.
Spot lights-
Spot lights can be used to light up corners and placed behind plants, which would give an interesting shadow on the ceiling.
Picture lights-
Are placed over pictures to illuminate them.
Recessed wall washers can also be used to high light pictures, but picture lights are an easier solution.
Indirect lighting can also be used to light cabinets, bars and bookcases, for example.
Under cabinet lighting-
Can add light to the shadowy spaces in the kitchen.
